Canadian Gold Project Gets Environmental Go-Ahead

25 April 2008 09:35

DDV Gold, a subsidiary of Australian mining and exploration company Atlantic Gold, has received environmental approval for its Touquoy Gold Project in Nova Scotia, Canada.

The project was given approval by Halifax's Minister of Environment following a government and public consultation as part of an environmental assessment.

The conditions of approval require the company to meet strict environmental rules on surface, ground water and air quality and noise management protection.

The Touquoy Gold Project is located in the Meguma Group, a sequence of Cambro-Ordovician sandstones and mudstones in the province of Nova Scotia.

The project has been expanded to an open-pittable resource of 653,500oz of gold with favourable mining and processing characteristics, says Atlantic Gold.
