Mining accommodation and services company MAC Services Group is to open a multi-million dollar manufacturing plant in Adelaide, South Australia, according to Australian reports.
South Australian Premier Mike Rann has welcomed the new facility, which is due to open 1 March.
"We all know we are on the cusp of great mining riches and SA can expect to see many more companies establish themselves here over the next few years to take advantage of the forthcoming boom," Rann told news agency AAP.
The new facility will build transportable houses and other accommodation facilities for remote mining regions, says MAC executive chairman Kevin Maloney.
The new manufacturing facility is expected to generate about 100 local jobs and, through the company's local purchasing policy, pump about A$25m a year into the South Australian economy.
