Gas Explosion Kills Coal Miners In China

A gas explosion in an illegal coal mine in northern China has killed at least 20 people, according to official news agency Xinhua.

Miners were attempting to reopen a shaft in Shanxi province, which had been blasted shut by the government in 2004.

The Chinese Government is cracking down on illegal and unsafe mines, which are considred the most dangerous in the world.
