Honeymoon Mine Gets Go-Ahead

16 January 2008

Canada's Uranium One has received construction approval for its Honeymoon mine in southern Australia, expected to produce 880,000lbs of uranium a year, a company official told Reuters.

The approval means the company can build its drilling and processing facilities on the site, which uses the in situ leach mining method to extract uranium.

Production is expected in the fourth quarter of this year, says the company.

The mine has indicated resources of 6.5 million pounds of uranium.
