Over 500 Zambian construction workers at the Chinese-owned Chambishi Copper Smelter are striking over pay and conditions, according to local media sources.
Construction on the smelter - which is due to start processing copper by August - has been held-up since the strike began on Thursday, writes Reuters.
The smelter will cost more than US$200m to construct and is part of China's planned $900m investment in the small mining town of Chambishi.
