Kanowna Belle Up And Running After Fire

25 October 2007

Australian mine operator Barrick Gold Corporation has announced operations are up and running again after a fire trapped fifty four miners at its Kanowna Belle mine in Kalgoorlie yesterday.

The mine was temporarily shut following a fire in the engine cabin of a 755 caterpillar truck.

The fire was extinguished by an on-board fire suppression system.

All mine workers were bought to safety yesterday with no reported injuries.
