A new recruitment drive to find 27,000 skilled workers in Australia's southern industrial hubs has been set up by the nation's minerals industry.
The Now Hiring campaign is targeting skilled trades people in Geelong, Adelaide and Wollongong so the industry can meet its current skills shortfall, according to the Australian Associated Press.
Set up as a pilot programme targeting skilled trades people, the campaign is part of an ongoing campaign by the Minerals Council of Australia's (MCA) to encourage workers into the mining and minerals industries.
The MCA says boilermakers, welders, metal fitters, diesel and plant workers are being sought in addition to diesel, heavy and light plant and electrical workers.
