Three of the rescuers attempting to find six workers trapped in a US mine in Utah have been killed following a cave-in, according to US officials.
The rescuers have been trying to find six trapped miners at the Huntington mine after it collapsed on August 6.
Six of the rescuers were also injured and are being treated in hospital. All others have been evacuated from the mine. Some US reports suggest the mine collapsed after an earthquake but other geologists disagree.
Earlier this week a third hole was bored to see further into the mine where scientists have discovered there is enough oxygen to sustain life indefinitely.
