Victory Nickel receives environmental licence for Canadian nickel project
Victory Nickel has received an Environment Act licence for the construction, operation and subsequent decommissioning of the Minago sulphide nickel project in central Manitoba, Canada.
With the receipt of the permit from the Manitoba government, the firm will begin pre-stripping the open pit in the coming months and will tender contracts for site engineering and power installation.
Victory Nickel has completed the feasibility study for the project, increased the resource in the Nose deposit, expanded the amount of nickel within the proposed pit and identified the potential for an additional resource in the North Limb.
The Minago open-pit mine in the Nose deposit is expected to produce about 26Mlb of nickel a year for about nine years.
