Canada Lithium has contracted Genivar for engineering, procurement, construction and management of its proposed lithium mine and processing plant in Quebec, Canada.

The company has appointed Met-Chem to assist it in the process-design and engineering stages.

The open-pit lithium mine is expected to commence full production in 2013, with the commissioning of the mine and plant scheduled for late 2012.

The initial capital cost for the project is estimated to be $202m.

Canada Lithium president and CEO Peter Secker said Genivar will commence site works by mid-2011.
