As public officials continue to measure the damage wrought by the Gold King mine spill in Colorado in August, some say it’s a wake-up call over the staggering number of abandoned mines in New Mexico. The US Government is making efforts to clean-up the deserted mines in the state, but the sheer number means this will not be an easy solution.
