As reported by Geologist Rodney A. Blakestad in his January 1, 2003 evaluation of the topography. Lake Creek has the reputation for large gold nuggets. Nuggets and finer grained gold are known to exist from the Central Basin to near the ridge line in the eastern portion of the Lake Creek drainage.
