IAMGOLD Drives Threefold Mine Expansion with Gemcom Technology

IAMGOLD has standardised on the Gemcom GEMS™ collaborative geology and mine planning software to gain efficiency at its operations.

The software enables the exchange of timely, accurate information among interdependent functions, such as geology, planning, surveying and scheduling. Since employing GEMS at its Rosebel mine in Suriname, the operation has amalgamated 27 different projects into one single, secure data repository. This provides 30 different users central, and easy access to the correct data. Benefits realised include streamlined workflows and improved communications between users. As GEMS is also widely used, it makes finding staff easier for the company in a time of skills shortages.
