BMA Saraji required a new plant to produce potable water to NHMRC drinking water guidelines. The mine had an older conventional cone clarification water treatment plant which was not achieving the water quality or the volume required. Challenges were that the input water was river water with high turbidity, colour, organics, ecoli and coliform bacteria, and blue-green algae toxins.
We built and installed a new modern 3 LPS containerised rectangular tube settler water treatment plant which supplies potable drinking water to the entire BMA Saraji mine site. We installed remote SCADA remote data logging services to allow us to monitor processes and ensure the system continues to run effectively. Features of the system include:
