Howden Ventilatoren - Mine and Tunnel Ventilation Systems

Howden Ventilatoren is a specialist supplier of mine and tunnel ventilation systems including Auxiliary Fans, Booster Fans, Main Fans and Dust Extraction Units.

Howden Ventilatoren is an integral part of Howden Group Ltd., the leading international supplier of air and gas handling equipment.

From initial quotation to final commissioning, Howden Ventilatoren can supply, project manage and support each project.

MAIN FANS

Howden Ventilatoren's ventilation systems include customised fans which could meet the different demands in various fields of applications.

From a simple axial fan with fixed blades to VP-Axial fans, from single flow direction to reversible flow direction, whether the fan location is on surface or underground or whether a stationary fan is needed or a removable fan with motor inside the fan hub, Howden Ventilatoren has the optimised solution.

AUXILIARY FANS

Auxiliary fans are generally used in hostile environments and are of robust construction with high levels of reliability and performance. The Howden range includes axial fans ranging from 315mm up to 2,000mm dia with either steel or aluminium blades. Options include flameproof motors, anti spark rings and drives suitable for inverter control.

DUST EXTRACTION

Efficient dust extraction is the key element in today's mining industry where health, safety and operating costs are important issues. Originally developed in conjunction with British Coal, the Howden Dust Extractor reduces the airborne dust levels in the mine by employing the wet fan and flooted bed theory.

TUNNEL VENTILATION

For permanent tunnel ventilation systems, Howden Ventilatoren can supply axial flow fans with variable pitch control as well as with speed control. The simultaneous blade adjustment provides a wide range of fan performance with a single speed and the fan volume flow rate can be adjusted to the prevailing conditions in that range. The blade angle of a speed-controlled fan can be adjusted at fan rest.

Predominantly for longitudinal ventilation, jet fans are often used. Howden Ventilatoren offers a wide range of jet fans especially developed to provide the highest thrust at installed power. Regardless of which fan type is chosen, both can be provided for reversible flow direction.

CONTINUOUS DEVELOPMENT

Continuous research and development ensures that Howden Ventilatoren lead the market mechanically, aerodynamically and in performance. Based on extensive model tests in the laboratories and full size field tests, we have fully optimised the airways of the fans and we continuously seeks to develop new efficiency levels and improvements.

RELIABILITY

Reliability is every operator's prime objective. Many millions of hours of operational performance prove that Howden Ventilatoren's fan equipment is engineered and manufactured with the highest reliability and durability as prime goals.

QUALITY

Today's mining industry demands highest level of quality to ensure high reliability and lowest maintenance commitments.

All our products are subjected to rigorous quality control at all stages from preparation of tender through to installation and commissioning to reach this target.
