Rocvent - Ventilation Fans and Accessories

Rocvent is a major manufacturer of ventilation fans and accessories in the North American mining and tunneling market with more than 20 years of service to our valued customers. We offer a full line of fans, ventilation ducting, (both positive and negative pressure types), silencers and ventilation duct accessories.

We also offer complete mine ventilation system design capabilities based on supplied parameters, with a 24-hour turnaround on most requests. Additionally, we supply cost effective and competitive turnkey operations.

Ducting for mining and tunneling

Our ducting is designed especially for the rough, hostile underground / tunneling environment using advanced radio frequency welding techniques, in diameters from 1ft to 10ft (0.3m to 3.0m) and lengths up to 330ft (100m). Using our special in-house designed suspension swivel and zipper joint connections, we have the finest ventilation ducting system on the market today.

Rocvent can provide both the design and construction of virtually anything that can be made from PVC coated woven materials. This material is air and waterproof, chemical and fire resistant, and UV protected from sunlight degradation. We currently offer tarpaulin fabrication, inflatable headcovers for overhead protection in mining; oil booms (containment systems for spills); self-supporting portable tanks (for fluids); and inflatable bulkheads for fire control.

Mine ventilation axial fans

Rocvent offers a complete line of axial fans manufactured in-house to rigorous quality specifications. They are specifically designed for mine ventilation requirements, and the hostile mining environment. The fans are variable pitch, energy efficient and very low maintenance units designed to give years of trouble-free operation.

Duct accessories

Rocvent manufactures all accessories required for bends in the ducting, reducers for duct size changes, "Y" sections to split the air flow into two separate flows, and branch-offs for diverting air into cross cuts. All units are special order, although limited quantities may be in inventory. Otherwise, approximately one week is required for manufacturing of the units.

Head covers / bulkheads

Units are designed for specific hole diameters ranging from 4ft (1.2m) up to 22ft (7.05m). The bulkhead forms around obstructions such as raise bore rods to provide protection from falling material, while servicing the cutters on a raise bore head at the raise base. Units are also used as headcovers in bins during chute repair operations.

The inflatable cover is pulled up into the hole using a cable. Once in the hole, it is inflated using a supplied air manifold and regulator set at 1.5psi. This low pressure causes the individual cells in the system to apply surface pressure against the whole circumference of the hole, yet will support loose material of several tons which may fall on the top of the cells.

Rocvent designs and manufactures inflatable drift barriers for a wide range of applications.

Self-supporting portable fluid tanks

Our self-supporting tanks are made of a flexible polyester, PVC-coated material, with a floatation ring built into the rim. As fluid is added to the tank the floatation ring rises carrying the sides up with it.

Fluid tank capacities vary from 1,000gal to 5,000gal and are ideal for use as a clear water sump during raise bore piloting operations. Low weight and compact design make the tanks easily transportable, and set up time is minimal.

Haggloader mining loaders

Rocvent is an agent for the Haggloader series of mining loaders. We offer a full line of track and trackless mechanical loaders for high speed tunneling and production applications. The unique "digging arm-loading" technique and the conveyor system allow the unit to continue working while the haulage vehicle is being replaced, allowing a steady flow of ore from the muckpile.

Units range in size from the 7HR with a face coverage of 8ft – 11ft of width, up to the 12HR with coverage of 17ft – 21ft of width and mucking capacities ranging up to 30t per minute. Used in tandem with the shuttle train system, in track development drift areas, a round can be mucked into a single train in a very short period of time.
