Komatsu Excavators Buyer Uses Crisp Airgineering Cabin Pressurisers

Working in the recycled, environmentally friendly green world has its challenges. When it comes to the recycling of some chemicals, odours and fumes can be a hazard to the employees.

Recently, a Komatsu client had Crisp Airgineering’s POD-50 systems installed onto their new Komatsu excavators.

The POD-50 manages particulates, odour and dust and can deliver clean air to the workplace / workspace at 50l/s, giving positive pressurization through a four-stage filtration system, which includes a hospital-grade high-efficiency particulate arrestance (HEPA) filter and an activated carbon filter as part of the clean air process.

The airflow rate can be reduced to assist with the air-conditioning load should the cabin be reasonably well sealed. A 20% airflow above cabin cubic volume gives positive pressure in most cases.

The POD-50 is a rooftop-mounted unit that requires an adaptor plate to marry between the POD-50 mounts and the vehicle roof mounts without degrading the integrity of the ROP / FOP.

In some cases, rare earth magnets with a high attraction rate are used to assist with the fitment. Ducting is used to run from the POD-50 to the evaporator’s air intake on the vehicle. The system is completely sealed to assure integrity. A negative ion option is available to assist with air freshness and CO2 levels in the cabin.
