SAFETY-SENSING BUMPERS AND FAILSAFE SENSING EDGES

Tapeswitch's failsafe safety-sensing bumpers and safety edges provide the first line of protection for mining personnel and equipment by constantly monitoring, and helping prevent, contact with a surface that is likely to cause damage.

For optimum safety, Tapeswitch offers a wide variety of interface safety controllers that are compatible with our safety-sensing bumpers, safety-sensing edges and pressure-sensitive mats. These include the PSRU/4 controller, and ensure optimum safety. When used with a Tapeswitch safety controller, the integrity of the sensing edge and all interconnecting wires can be continuously monitored.

Tapeswitch's high-quality safety-sensing bumpers, such as the SEC, provide a large, compliant surface that protects both personnel and equipment by detecting contact or impact before damage is done. Usually customized, they are available in various sensitivities, profiles, colors and lengths. Internal switching elements are UL and cUL recognized.

TS-46 FAILSAFE SENSING EDGE

The TS-46 failsafe sensing edge is a general purpose, medium-profile safety edge. It has some compliance before activation, eliminating nuisance tripping, and provides about ¾in of over-travel cushioning after activation. This edge also exhibits excellent side-activation.

Mounting is in crimpable aluminum channels (flat or angled), which are more tamper-resistant than snap-in channels.

The santroprene TPE housing is resistant to water, oil, hydraulic fluids, and coolants. The internal switching element is rated at three million operations at any point. All TS-46 sensing edges are supplied with four-lead, failsafe wiring and are compatible with Tapeswitch safety interface controllers.
