Ear-O-Tec - Personal Hearing Protection

Variphone is a custom made hearing protection device that consists of an acrylic ear mould with a specialized, built-in filter.

Variphone is one of the rare custom made hearing protection devices on the market with a 100% final control of the fitting to ensure a leak tight fit which can be set within 1dB of the required attenuation level as it contains an adjustable valve.

LEAK TIGHT FIT

The leak-tight fit is critically important to ensure 100% adherence to international specifications – Variphone has been NAL-tested.

Life expectancy is around five to eight years, even longer – provided it is serviced and maintained at least annually.

ON-SITE ALTERATIONS / ON-SITE SERVICING

We supply mini-labs for the purpose to do on-site alterations (cost saving) and also on-site servicing of the units (build-up / ultrasonic cleaning / etc.) to ensure a leak tight fit and optimal functioning .

Please note that Variphone is effective up to a noise level of 120dB maximum. These products have been used throughout Europe and South Africa since 1988, with extensive use in oil and gas, mining, aluminum smelters and heavy industry. It has been used in Australia and New Zealand since 2004.

NOISE-BAN

Noise-Ban is a custom made acrylic protector that provides a good fit for optimum wearer comfort. The attenuation can be set by selecting a filter which can be inserted in the specifically designed faceplate which also functions as a hand grip.

Due to its robust design and simplicity the NoiseBan© is extremely user friendly. Available in various colours and it can be supplied with an optional cord and clip to prevent loss. These hearing protectors will be delivered as standard with a durable pouch, cleaning cloth and earwax remover. Fitting these protectors only takes 5 minutes as the check for leak tightness is performed.

All the above products allow the user to converse with co-workers and hear warning signals without having to remove the hearing protector.

VARICOM

We also offer a unique solution for two-way radio communication in high noise areas. The Varicom can be connected via a PTT (push to talk) interface to most common two-way radios.

The Varicom© consists of a custom made earpiece with a built-in high profile miniature microphone and speaker. All the electronic parts are imbedded in the earpiece and thereby insulated against the environmental noise. This leads to exceptional speech intelligibility. The Varicom© proves to be not only a good communication system but also an excellent hearing protector.

HEARINGCOACH - HEARING CONSERVATION PROGRAM

HearingCoach makes use of new scientific insights and innovative techniques. It is not ‘yet another' theoretical approach on what ‘should or could’ be done, but an ‘in detail’ worked out Hearing Conservation Program - ready to be put into practice.

The HearingCoach HCP is based on recent scientific and makes use of ‘State of the Art’ techniques in the field of;

• Noise and Risk Assessment based on ISO1999
• Early detection of cochlear damage using ‘Oto Acoustic Emissions’
• Verification of attenuation of Hearing Protectors using SEAL Check methodology and MIRE technology
• Positive influencing of Behaviour (coaching)

The HearingCoach HCP takes into account all guidelines of the existing national and/or international legislation concerning ‘Noise at Work’. Recently it was awarded as ‘Best Practice’ by the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EASHW).
