DEX ID'S VEIN BIOMETRICS

The DexID VP-11 Vascular Pattern vein biometrics is a generic access control and time and attendance system.

The DexID VP-11 reads the vascular pattern through the top of the hand at an extremely high speed to verify the identity of the user and allow or deny access.

The highly advanced and affordable VP-11 vein scanner is ideal for mines as the biometric access control enables positive identification of mine workers at high speeds. Mineworkers can be identified completely in 0.4sec.

As well as being highly efficient, the VP-11 has state-of-the-art recognition technology which enhances the system's usability to 99.98% as opposed to the 95% of other biometrics systems.

This is the perfect solution for harsh environments, such as construction, mining, industrial and factories, where other biometrics technologies have failed. The system is also ideal for use in corporate environments where aesthetic values of the product also have priority.

By using the VP-11 various forms of frauds can be eliminated from the mining environment.

VEIN READERS IN THE MINING ENVIRONMENT

Security and identification processes are crucial in the mining industry. A lack of speedy, positive and accurate identification of mineworkers can have catastrophic consequences in cases of mine accidents or earth tremors.

Biometric or fingerprint technology is not only slower in identifying workers, but in the mining environment it is also difficult to apply due to damaged fingerprints or grimy fingers.

Miners doing manual labour underground often have their fingerprints damaged to such an extent that the taking of fingerprints becomes impossible.

Due to the nature of their working conditions, miners are expected to undergo medical tests on a regular basis. Vein scanners can also be used to ensure that miners have undergone medical examinations.

When integrating the systems, a miner can be denied access to the canteen or a shaft if he has not gone for a medical examination.
