Founded in 1981 in Denver, Colorado, by Stu Blattner, the company manufactures raise boring machines, drilling equipment and accessories, as well as providing drilling services to mines and hydroelectric companies all over the world.

The company has worked in Canada, Mexico, Honduras, Venezuela, Bolivia, Colombia, Brazil, Chile, South Africa, Zambia, Italy, Australia, Indonesia, Morocco, Portugal, Ecuador, Peru and US and currently carrying out operations in Chile, Ecuador, Argentina and Australia.

RAISE BORE MACHINES

There are currently 19 raise bore machines in Stu Blattner Inc's fleet, and with many years' experience in the raise bore field, Stu Blattner have perfected their methods. They cater to their customers needs, offering such services as 'low profile' machines; and have also met special requirements, such as developing the 'Y' system, where one raise is pulled out of another.

Stu Blattner Inc's equipment is predominately utilised in mining ventilation shafts, ore passages or manways, along with hydroelectric projects for the use of drilling from 11in to 16.4ft in diameter and 400m in length.

REAMING HEADS AND CUTTERS

In addition to raise bore manufacturing, Stu Blattner Inc. also manufactures raise bore machines, reaming heads and cutters. This puts the company in the unique situation of supplying itself with the correct equipment for a job, enabling it to offer its customers the lowest price and the best customer service in the industry.

Stu Blattner Inc. has developed the following types of raise boring machines:

THE SBM-400 SP RAISE BORING MACHINE

This raise boring machine comprises a complete system for drilling long holes and boring raises as large as 6ft in diameter with the 400 LP, or 7ft with the 400 SP. This system includes an electric / hydraulic power pack with integral controls and a remote control station and tools to make easy threaded pipe connections.

THE SBM-600 RAISE BORING MACHINE

This is an intermediate raise boring machine with a great performance record, that can drill up to 350m long holes with diameters ranging from 1.5m to 3.1m.

THE SBM-700 BORING SYSTEM

This is a medium sized boring system but equipped with a great deal of power and torque, which make it one of the most versatile machines in the business. This is a complete system for drilling long holes and boring raises. The variable speed and constant torque of the hydraulic drive enables the user to adjust the rotary speed to match their drilling conditions. Shifting is done hydraulically for smooth changing.Hydraulic shifting allows smooth changing of gears.

THE SBM-900 RAISE BORE MACHINE

Due to the increased load capacities provided with the SBM 900, the hydraulic thrust cylinders are used as guide columns, which are in direct line with the drive spindle. Pilot or reaming thrust is reacted directly through the pivot point of the machine to assure stability at any drill angle or thrust load.

This is one of the most powerful, and well-designed raise boring machines in the world, capable of drilling up to 610m holes at 5m diameter.

RAISE BORE MACHINE REAMER HEADS

These raise bore machines can be equipped with 5ft, 6ft, 7ft, 10ft and 13ft diameter reamer heads to guarantee complete client satisfaction supported by an ample stock of spare parts for accurate and continuous operation.
