Trident South Africa recently as part of its global expansion strategy has been making inroads into the South American mining industry, notably in Bolivia.
As part of a government initiative to increase production on the Huanuni Tin mine near Oruro Bolivia Trident SA has developed and delivered a suite of equipment to meet the requirements of the customer.
This suite of equipment was made up of 19 Eimco 12AC muckers, 20 Eimco 21AC muckers, ten 3t ‘Wolf’ trolley locomotives, three 3t ‘Wolf’ battery locomotives, four 4t ‘Wolf’ trolley locomotives and two 10t ‘Alfa Wolf’ trolley locomotives.
Included in the deal where service and spare parts elements that will help Huanuni meet its production requirements.
The 12 and 21 AC muckers and the ‘Wolf’ locomotives were purpose designed for South American conditions and will become a force to be reckoned with in that marketplace.
