Desert Ore is a Western Australia-owned and operated mine logistic specialist with over 40 years’ experience in all aspects of mining and haulage. We provide high-quality personnel and equipment for operations ranging from open-cut mining to large and small haulage contracts.

• Ensure every employee successfully completes our competency-based OSH induction
• Question the employee’s safety performance and assess safety attitudes
• Check qualifications and confirm competencies
• Test competency knowledge
• Conduct pre-employment medical screening to confirm our employees have the capability to do the task
• Assess all sites we undertake work on, including risk assessments and job safety analysis
• Ensure all employees and supervisors follow our safety system and processes

Mine contractor performance-monitoring system

Desert Ore’s safety management system focuses on managing pre-incident actions and processes; i.e. doing all the things necessary to prevent incidents.

We undertake performance monitoring of each employee for pre-incident factors such as hazard analysis, OHS inspections, employee selection, training, risk assessments and audits, resulting in incident investigations, employee injury management, emergency response, crisis management and workers' compensation.

At Desert Ore, we are committed to occupational health, safety and the environment. We believe that having sound OHS&E systems in place is good business practice.

Our safety management system has been developed with the aim of providing and maintaining a safe working environment for all our employees and clients. It is n accordance with Work Safe WA Plan Standards, the WA OSH Act, Legislation, Regulations and Codes of Practice; the WA Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations; and the Injury Management Code of Practice WA. We are currently working hard to gain certification to AS/NZS: 4801.
