Aus-Com - Training Services for Mine Sites and Plant Operation

Aus-Com Training Services is a registered training organisation that provides a range of advanced training programs for operators in the mining and civil industries.

Real working site and advanced simulator training for mine sites

We offer a real working site together with advanced simulators to train and assess personnel in a safe and controlled environment. Our training centre is located 15 minutes south of Perth and we train the following people:

  • Inexperienced operators with no plant operation, resource industry or civil construction industry experience
  • Operators with plant and industry experience without formal qualifications
  • Verification of competence (VOC) for existing operators
  • Upskilling of supervisors, trainers and assessors

Benefits of our training include:

  • Students are trained on real machines on a working site
  • We incorporate the world's leading simulation technologies into training programmes
  • We offer nationally recognised qualifications
  • We are recognised trainers for the mining industry

Mobile plant operation training

Aus-Com offers a complete training service combining short courses on all types of mobile plant operation, for inexperienced and experienced personnel who wish to enter the mining and civil industries. A training and proficiency assessment facility for operators of heavy mobile equipment located onsite at Neerabup (40 minutes north of Perth).

Our training is conducted in simulated and real working environments, and our training services provide clients with onsite training and assessment for their existing personnel.

Traineeships for new and existing mine site workers

We also offer traineeships for new and existing workers. All training programmes are designed to meet the needs of both individuals and companies. All courses are competency-based and tailored to meet industry practical skills and safety requirements within the relevant training package.

As a result, our popular courses provide students with minimum entry requirements for entering the industries and a national accreditation to a partial completion of a Statement of Attainment towards Certificate II or III.

Training will provide that balance between the need for production-based employees, and the requirement to operate safely within the confines of the law.

Competency-based operator training for mining and construction industries

Aus-Com provides competency-based operator training across both the mining and civil construction industries, with machinery operator training in haul truck, excavator, grader, front end loader (FEL) and skid steer loader (SSL / bobcat). This training occurs on our training mine, which utilises functional and operational resource industry equipment to national competency standard, at our Neerabup site.

Aus-Com is able to provide four-wheel drive training to operate and maintain a four-wheel drive vehicle (RIIVEH305A), which is a national competency standard that has superseded TLIC107C.

We also offer electronic simulator training in haul truck operations at our Neerabup site, for verification of competence (VOC) for experienced operators, and for new operator training.
