COMET AUTOMATIC WEDGE WELDING MACHINE

The COMET is an automatic wedge welding machine for overlap welding and prefabrication of geomembrane liners and foils in earthwork, civil engineering and tunnelling applications.

The COMET is impressive not only because of its low weight but also because of its compact construction (without remote control box). The width of the overlap of 5 inches is also an impressive feature, which has greatly simplified the work involved in laying and welding. LEISTER have above all focused their attention on easy operation and handling to enable problem-free processing. For example, the swivel head is a feature which guarantees the equalising of pressure between the pressure rollers. This results in easy and fault-free welding of T-joints.

In addition, the COMET offers, independently of voltage fluctuations and various stresses due to ground variations or ambient temperatures, a micro-controller for controlling the welding parameters. The damp and tropics-proof LCD display with background illumination is particularly useful in underground working. Additionally, the digital display facilitates reading of SET and ACTUAL values of the welding temperature, welding speed and operating indicator.
