As a specialist in the upgrading of loose mineral-bearing materials, Kammann OptoSort (KOS) provides automatic sorting machines for a wide variety of applications. With the help of the proven OptoSort colour sorting system, KOS is able to distinguish between such different loose mineral-bearing materials as gemstones, limestone, magnesite, quartz, copper and gold ore in accordance with colour, brightness, fluorescent behaviour, shape factor and particle size. FIELD-PROVEN SORTING MACHINESIn accordance with the respective task formulations, field-proven sorting machines with conveyor belt delivery or free-fall machines with respectively adjusted separation geometries, recognition and discharge technologies are available. The OptoSort sorting machines can be integrated into various operating guidance and control systems and can be supported by tele-maintenance from the head office through the use of customer-provided network connections. The entire machinery set-up is designed for easy maintenance and to meet everyday requirements. Optosort gives trouble-free performance, even in three-shift operations. The Optosort is undergoing continuous improvement in co-operation with the FhG. A team of specialists from the sectors of geology, upgrading and mining technology, and automation and control engineering are developing individual and optimally adjusted solutions for our international mining customers. TEST SORTINGS AND FEASIBILITY STUDIESWe are in a position to be able to upgrade large quantities of material on a semi-industrial scale at our testing installation in Schenefeld (Wacken) north of Hamburg. This testing installation and our laboratory are continuously made available to our customers for feasibility studies and test sortings. CUSTOM-SORTING TASKS OptoSort sorting machines can perform custom-sorting tasks for limestone, quartz, feldspar, magnesite, talcum, and other materials with special grain shape, a fine range of grain sizes, or material dampness. OptoSort provides high performance output for a variety of grain sizes:
SORTING OF GEMSTONE DEPOSITSAreas of application for the Gemstar and BeltCompact OptoSort sorting machines with single or double-sided recognition include sorting of primary (kimberlite) and secondary (alluvial) diamond and other gemstone deposits with a range of grain sizes from 1mm to 10mm and performance output of 2t/h to10t/h. After-sorting of concentrate from various preliminary upgrading stages reduces manual sorting with a range of grain sizes from 0.5mm to 10mm. Performance output of <100kg/h to <1,000kg/h is also available. BELT-SORTING INSTALLATIONSWith belt-sorting installations of the Gemstar/BeltCompact model series, the flow of loose mineral-bearing material is transported to the detection level on a rapidly moving conveyor belt. The material undergoes optimum separation thanks to the high speed of the conveyor belt and is forwarded directly to the detection level at the end of the conveyor belt in a flat trajectory parabola. Thanks to an expedient configuration of illumination sources and the high-resolution colour line camera, each individual particle of the loose mineral-bearing material is registered and classified using special image-processing software. In accordance with the position and size of the particles, the required high-performance compressed air valves are brought into position in real time and the material to be rejected is expelled from the flow of material with a precision burst of compressed air.
