Gekko Systems’ Sales Manager, Jennifer Abols, was presented the prestigious ‘Bill Moore Special Achievement Award’ during the gala event at the recent CMP Conference in Ottawa, Canada.

The ‘Bill Moore Special Achievement Award’ is an award that recognises the meritorious service to the Canadian Mineral Processors division or an outstanding technical contribution to the mineral processing industry and is an award specifically intended to honour younger members, typically those under the age of 35 within the industry.

“Jennifer was one of the first participants in the CMP student program, some 13 years ago, and has been heavily involved ever since“ said John Starkey, Past Chair of the CMP and presenter of the award.

He added that “Jennifer’s most recent involvement has been as a CMP board member for four years and was the first female and one of the youngest ever Chairman of the Canadian Mineral Processing Division”.

Jennifer Abols holds a BSc. in Extractive Metallurgy from Laurentian University in Sudbury, Canada. She also has an MBA from Wilfred Laurier University (also in Canada).

Jennifer worked for Placer Dome and Metso Minerals before taking up the position of Vice President, Canadian Operations for Gekko Systems. For four years Ms Abols was based in Gekko’s Canadian office in Vancouver before moving to Gekko’s head office in Australia where she is responsible for sales in Australia and Asia.
