RGN Mining Services - Strata Support and Ground Control Services

RGN Mining Services was established in 2006 to provide a range of services to underground coal mines, civil engineering (including tunnelling), metal mining and above-ground quarries and mines. The primary focus of RGN Mining Services is the underground coal mining industry, in particular secondary support activities.

Strata support, bolt and dowel installation, and pressure grouting

The style of work is associated with strata support and involves bolt and dowel installation, and pressure grouting. This includes the installation of cable bolts (truss and tendons), bowen bolts, spin bolts, mega bolts, mambo bolts and various other rib and roof bolts. RGN Mining Services also installs floor bolts, takes roof and floor core samples, drills monitoring holes and post-grouts pre-installed roof bolts.

Mine cavity filling and rib replacement

Other services provided include cavity filling and rib replacement with foam cement and shotcrete work.

Strata support safety services

RGN Mining Services integrates engineering technologies and systems into a range of options offered to clients, to ensure all work is performed effectively and efficiently.

Health and safety is paramount to our operation and is controlled by all members of the company. We focus on preventing injuries to all stakeholders. The general manager ensures that all policies are in place, written correctly and adhered to throughout our operations.

The workforce is actively encouraged to partake in improvement ideas and innovations to improve the safe working environment. A 'no blame' policy is fostered within the realms of safety to find the route cause of incidents, ensuring mistakes are not repeated.

RGN Mining Services works with its clients and employees to develop and continually improve safety systems. A safety management system is in place which includes regular site safety inspections. JSAs and SWPs are in place for all tasks performed, with continual evaluation and improvement.

Strata support and ground control training

A training matrix is kept up to date, ensuring all personnel are adequately trained and aware of potential hazards before any task is undertaken. Regular preventative maintenance of equipment is a key feature of RGN Mining Services. This both reduces loss of production and helps in preventing injuries due to equipment failure.

Our head office is located on the central coast of NSW, offering convenient access to NSW coal mines in the south coast, Blue Mountains and Hunter Valley regions.
