Resin capsules and injection chemicals

The company was founded on its expertise in chemical products such as resin capsules and injection chemicals. In recent years, a full range of steel and fibre glass bolts has been added through the acquisition of Excel Mining Systems in the US in 2007 and a series of acquisitions and start-ups in Europe, Australia and China.

Innovation has been a foundation of Minova's success, as evidenced by the many patents it holds around the world for the chemical formulation, manufacture and application of its products.

Mining steel bolts, chemicals and cement

Research and development is led by recently established global centres of excellence: for steel bolts in the US, chemicals in Germany and cement products in Poland. Recent accomplishments include Quickbolt, a new generation of anchoring systems. Complete with a built-in resin, Quickbolt is designed to improve safety and productivity underground.

Our laboratory in Poland has developed advanced thin spray liner solutions for underground mines. A new formulation of Tekflex® provides an efficient barrier for water and helps to stabilise rock formations. Capcem — a cement-based product initially developed to stabilise rock formations in underground mines in South Africa — has been modified for more general application in new geographies. The result is a product that is ten times stronger than shotcrete and easy to apply in layers of 6mm.

Minova now offers an unmatched range of products and services and is the only company in its field with an extensive global reach. The company has entered into a global alliance with Atlas Copco, which allows it to include Swellex inflatable rock bolts and other well-known Atlas Copco products in the Minova product offer.

Ventilation dams, injection resin, roof bolts and drilling machines

Minova operates 26 manufacturing facilities in eleven countries, producing such well-known products as Lokset® resin capsules, Tekseal ventilation dams, Bevedol and Bevedan injection resin, Excel roof bolts and Turbo-bolter drilling machines.
