CONTACT SHOES FOR SUBMERGED ARC FURNACES

Nicro contact shoes for submerged arc furnaces are made from hot-rolled, high-conductivity, copper slabs (+95% IACS) instead of traditional cast copper shoes. We have produced these contact shoes for a variety of arc furnaces in South Africa. The lifespan of these hot rolled shoes far exceeds the lifespan of conventional cast copper contact shoes.

PRESSURE RINGS FOR SUBMERGED ARC FURNACES

Submerged arc furnace pressure rings are made from aluminium bronze (AB1), copper or stainless steel. Nicro use a special patented stainless-steel diaphragm with a movement limiter, instead of standard bellows, as the pressure component onto the contact shoe.

INDUSTRIAL VALVES

Nicro produce various types of industrial valves for a wide variety of applications.

HIGH-PRESSURE AUTOCLAVE ANGLE LETDOWN VALVES

High-pressure autoclave angle letdown valves (40bar) with special linings are in use in pressure leaching, lime dosing plants, slurry backfill and base metal refinery plants.

HIGH-PRESSURE ANGLE CONTROL VALVE

A special high-pressure (180bar) angle control valve was developed for the mining industry for a patented process to move slurries over vast distances without using rows of pumps in series.

HOT-FEED SLIDE GATE VALVES

For the furnace industry a range of hot-feed slide gate valves were developed in SG42 and stainless steel material. These hot-feed slide gate valves have been worked continuously at 1,000ºC.

HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL CENTRIFUGAL PUMPS

A range of horizontal and vertical centrifugal pumps and replacement parts has been developed to form part of an import replacement programme. Pumps are made in a wide range of high performance alloys.

A revolutionary peristaltic pump has also recently been developed.

NICRO HEAVY-DUTY PERISTALTIC PUMPS

Peripump is a heavy-duty industrial peristaltic pump. Designed and manufactured in South Africa, Nicro peristaltic pumps provide for frictionless, high pressure, high-volume transport of slurries at the lowest possible cost.
