The last 12 months have seen A Boughey involved in ongoing management of heavy mining equipment cost and availability sustainability, long term planning and component forecasting and asset life cycle cost modelling for various clients.
In long-term planning and component forecasting, two-year major component forecasts are being undertaken to ensure parts are available when required. This has assisted in the predictability and quality of maintenance planning. A standard methodology and process has been developed to disseminate major component requirements to critical suppliers allowing forward planning and security of component supply for both mine sites and component suppliers.
Asset life cycle modelling has been utilised to form an integral component of asset management. This process takes a whole of life view of maintenance and operating costs and utilises predictive modelling to support informed business decisions.
Evaluating life cycle cost models has assisted business personnel in making informed decisions around:
- Whole of life asset costs
- Varying cost scenarios
- Alternate assets
- Maintenance tactics
- Budgetary planning
- Prediction of optimum replacement timeframes for assets
Validating life cycle cost models has also ensured decisions are made on accurate costs and any issues with current maintenance practices or asset selection are identified and rectified.
A Boughey has again secured contracts to continue HME Management into 2012 and look forward to working with our clients to offer them the best possible outcome.
