Bearings for underground mining

Underground mining presents its own set of maintenance challenges - especially underground coal mining. Nobody wants to descend hundreds of feet into the earth worrying about whether or not their equipment will make it through the day. Shaker screens for mining applications

NTN's shaker screen spherical roller bearings are specifically designed for use in shaker screens and other vibrating equipment. These sphericals have a robust cage that is resistant to vibration-induced cracking and longer rollers to increase capacity, thereby extending bearing life. Shaker screen spherical roller bearings also have special tolerances on the bore, OD and internal clearance. These tighter tolerances ensure uniform housing and shaft fits as well as uniform clearance under loading and mounting.

Light to medium-duty conveyor applications

NTN's Ultra-Class™ mounted units are designed to offer extreme reliability in conveyor applications. For light to moderately loaded conveyor applications their Ultra-Class line offers a quality and dependability that no OEM mounted unit can offer. With features like a heavy-duty solid base housing and a ball point set screw, these units are designed to offer long-lasting reliability performance.

Heavy-duty conveyor applications

The inherent problem with all SAF style mounted units is contamination. Previously, the only way around this was to increase the re-lubrication schedule for these units, which would flush out any, contaminates inside the unit - exceeding the unit's life but also increasing lubrication costs. To solve this NTN has developed a range of heavy-duty spherical roller bearing mounted units, featuring SPAW, SPW and SFCW types. These units utilize spring-loaded contact seals to combat heavy contamination issues and grease consumption. Additionally, these units offer the same base-to-shaft center height and bolt hole positions as SAF units for easy replacement.

Mobile bearing training unit

The NTN technical training unit (TTU) is a custom mobile training unit offering a variety of courses for all maintenance issues including bearing installation, shaft and housing fits, lubrication and failure analysis.

NTN's 'mobile classroom' enhances learning by guiding students through in-class exercises and demonstrations that enable them to immediately apply what they learn. In addition to providing training to customers, the TTU offers a selection of bearing installation tools, greases, lubrication systems and technical literature.
