The MAC Services Group (‘The MAC’) is the largest publicly-traded provider of accommodation facilities for the resources industry in Australia.

Established in 1988, The MAC has designed, built and currently operates accommodation villages in Central Queensland and Western Australia. By June 2008, The MAC will offer in excess of 4,310 permanent rooms and has and has further plans to expand nationally.

Working with a number of global leaders in the resources sector, The MAC is setting new standards in the design and development of accommodation services to the coal mining, resources, construction and tourism industries. Its ten years’ operating history in providing large-scale, serviced and integrated mining accommodation solutions in regional and remote areas means clients are distanced from the provision of accommodation and can focus on their core business.

The MAC owns and manages all its own facilities in a similar style to a hotel/motel. The aim is to offer a community atmosphere embracing comfort, casual living and quality of life. Guest services include dietician-assessed meals, pay TV, internet services, retail outlets, and selected villages include taverns, gym facilities, swimming pools and even an art galleries.

The MAC Construction is a specialist division of The MAC Services Group providing the latest in modern remote-living solutions, specific to client needs. With a turn-key package that includes all approvals, designs, manufacturing and construction, MAC Villages reflect quality and style.

The Development Team perform initial site selection and investigation, carry out feasibility studies and finalise development approvals for land purchase.

The Design team take these initial impressions and work with councils, engineers and other industry specialists to achieve innovative and professional outcomes. The Design team stay at the forefront of innovation by continually researching building designs and sustainable building materials.

With a team of specialists that have the flexibility to respond to new designs and meet tight deadlines, The MAC Construction’s high quality and values are carried through the entire process to provide a tailored accommodation solution.

The MAC’s Manufacturing division builds cabins that typify quality, strength, comfort, ease of transportability and modern design. Particular care is taken to ensure all building designs are constructed to withstand unpredictable weather conditions often experienced in remote areas. All cabins comply with the Building Code of Australia and other relevant Standards.

A MAC Village is built on solid infrastructure. The construction may include:

Headed up The MAC’s artist-in-residence at our Nebo Village and currently comprising the Pioneer Tracks of Queensland Gallery, the projects contain informative displays and murals celebrating the early years of settlement in Queensland. The Gallery also houses an antique dray as a sculpture, achieved through the collaboration of skilled craftsmen from the Nebo region.
