Rapid Deployment Solutions (RDS) specialises in the design and manufacture of modular, portable and collapsible buildings suitable for civil and military use. These buildings can be rapidly deployed, quickly constructed and used in extreme weather conditions. The buildings are multi-functional, and can be utilised as accommodation units, offices, mess halls, medical centres, meeting rooms, command posts, and communication centres.

THE RAPID UNIT WITH WALLS OF LIGHTWEIGHT, INSULATED PANELS

The Rapid Unit has walls of lightweight, insulated panels mounted on steel or aluminium bases, locked together in size increments of 1.2m by 2.4m. RDS adopt a flexible approach to meet the specific customer requirements of each project. Flexible options features include sizes, footing designs, air-conditioning, electrical configurations, bathrooms, kitchens, furnishings, awnings and colours.

It takes two people less than an hour to erect the standard Rapid Unit. Dimensions and configurations of the units can be quickly and easily transformed, as deployment needs change. The standard unit (2.4m by 2.4m) packs down to a size of 2.4m by 0.8m x 1.2m and weighs less than 300kg, thereby allowing efficient handling and storage.

The wide range of applications for RDS rapid-assembly collapsible buildings includes accommodation, offices and storage, medical centres, mess halls, communication centres and meeting rooms. The units are compatible for transport by air, land and sea.

TAILOR MADE MODULAR BUILDING UNITS

The smallest Rapid Unit is 1.2m by 2.4m, and the standard Rapid Unit measures 2.4m by 2.4m. Units can be easily expanded in increments of 1.2m by 2.4m, and have the capacity to be constructed to your specifications. Expansion kits are available to enable re-configuration for larger size units.

The standard bathroom is self-contained measuring 1.2m by 2.4m, although alternative sizes are available by request. Fittings in a standard bathroom include a toilet cistern, hot water unit, vanity with basin, mirror, ventilation fan, toilet roll and soap holders and shower recess.

The standard kitchen measures 1.2m by 2.4m, and as with the Rapid Deployment bathroom, other sizes are available by request to enable RDS to meet customer needs. Fittings in a standard kitchen include; LP gas stove and oven, microwave, instant hot water unit, cupboard with stainless steel sink, refrigerator and exhaust fan.

FURNISHED AND UNFURNISHED MODULAR BUILDING UNITS

Units can be supplied furnished or unfurnished. Furnishings in a standard unit typically include a king size single bed, study desk, chair, bedside table, wardrobe and reading light.

RDS Rapid Units are equipped with extreme weather seals. These heavy duty, corner mouldings and joins are available for use in extreme weather and dust conditions. Additionally, various footing designs and equipment are available to suit specific deployment environments including:

• Low impact levelling feet
• Single stakes for light wind conditions
• Rock, sand and snow anchors

MODULAR UNIT TRANSPORT CRATES

For extreme, off-road deployment, a heavy-duty transport kit is available that is weather proof, shock resistant and has lifting points.

Alternative awnings made from canvas or other UV resistant materials are available, these provide additional cover, protection, space and camouflage.
