Diesel powered people carriers, utility vehicles and loaders

The VLI diesel division involves the manufacture, sale, hire and maintenance of diesel powered, rubber-tyred people carriers and light or heavy utility vehicles / loaders for use in underground coal mines.

The VLI diesel division is comprised of new sales, repair, service, overhauls and field and technical support services, along with capabilities for spare parts and hire. Each area of our division is focused on providing the highest quality products for our customers.

Flameproof diesel powered vehicles for underground coal mining

Working within the highly regulated industry developed around underground gassy mines, VLI has developed a technologically advanced and compliant range of flameproof diesel powered vehicles specifically designed for use in underground coal mines. These include:

• The JUG-A-O - a flameproof, diesel powered 4x4 articulated utility loader powered by an 8l supercharged Hino engine with a load-sense hydraulic system and a lifting capacity of 10,000kg
• The Brumby - a 4,000kg lift capacity, four-wheel drive and steer, rigid utility vehicle with an un-braked towing capacity of 5,000kg and a braked towing capacity of 10,000kg
• The Driftrunner - a personnel and material transporter; heavy-duty, flameproof, diesel powered 4x4 vehicle designed and built to operate in the underground coal market, available with a range of options

The VLI diesel division has offices and workshops in both New South Wales and Queensland that design and manufacture our products to the highest quality from start to finish. We also provide repairs, servicing and parts at the Mackay, Tomago, Emerald and Rutherford branches. We are proud that all of our products are 100% Australian made.

Underground conveyor systems

VLI is one of the industry leading wholesalers of conveyor components and conveyor belts, predominately for the maintenance of underground and coal-related conveyor systems. We offer pulleys and idlers, belt cleaners, buckets and also meet the maintenance requirements of sites we supply to.

Additionally, VLI manufactures rollers and idlers for conveyors, ventilation systems and associated safety equipment for underground mines.
