Helicopter aerial survey services

Helispecs' helicopters are frequently deployed by clients in the mining sector for mapping and survey projects. They offer the ideal access to remote and isolated areas, with little or no environmental impact.

Large areas can be mapped and recorded efficiently using fifferential global positioning systems (DGPS).  At the completion of the aerial survey the information gathered can then be downloaded and reviewed for overlaying onto GIS systems as required. 

The advanced DGPS with data logging capabilities fitted to Helispecs' helicopters can upload GIS files before the operation and record a variety of parameters that include flight paths, distances travelled and areas covered for future review and analysis. And the accuracy of these readings makes them suitable for a variety of aerial survey based projects.

Helicopter-based survey - forward looking infrared imaging

On request we can organise forward looking infrared imaging (FLIR) which can record the perimeter, fire lines or look for hot spots that cannot be found or seen by normal methods.

The map or imagery can then be sent directly from the helicopter to the fire control room via the Next G network for immediate analysis.
