Minelite was established to respond to the need to find better lighting for underground miners' caps.
The modern miner is involved in a different role to that of miners of the past. They carry out a variety of different roles which require a smaller, lighter battery that delivers light over a 12-hour shift and can be transported by road, sea or air with a non-dangerous goods classification. Minelite products serve these needs.
The cordless Alfa WL miner's cap lamp represents a design revolution in cap lighting. It incorporates the most advanced LED lighting and Li-ion energy storage technology.
This lightweight, cordless, waterproof and gas-tight cap lamp attaches directly to the helmet clip. There is no need for the traditional cable connecting to a battery worn on the miner's belt. The Alfa WL is suitable for use in hard-rock mining, the coal industry, open-cut mining, mine rescue, fire and emergency services, and any application where light weight, a high degree of reliability and hands-free safety (three points of contact) is paramount.
This versatile product can be used by visitors, service crew, firemen, mine rescue teams, underground workers, mine managers, shift bosses and geologists. It comes as a complete solid-state unit (LED and battery) and has full approvals for use in coal mines and other hazardous locations. IBExU09, ATEX 1032, IEC Ex ib I (ALFA-WL-M2), IEC Ex ia I (ALFA-WL-M1).
The SCGL2 represents a design revolution in miner's cap lamps. It incorporates the most advanced components for lighting and energy-storage technology.
It is an extremely lightweight, waterproof, gas-tight cap lamp, ideal for use in hard-rock mining, the coal industry, open-cut mining, mine rescue, fire and rescue services, and any application where light weight, a high degree of reliability and hands-free safety (three points of contact) is paramount.
This versatile product has an auxiliary light for safety and a main beam with standard and high power setting. Unlike early LED cap lamps which typically had a diffused light, the SCLG2 incorporates a lens so that the main beam is focused into a penetrating spotlight, ideal for underground mining conditions. It can be used by underground workers, underground drivers, visitors, service crew, firemen, mine rescue personnel, mine managers, shift bosses and geologists.
The product comes as a complete unit (LED cap lamp assembly, battery and charger). In this configuration it meets the stringent safety conditions of coal mines and hazardous areas for which it has full approvals.IBExU09, ATEX 1032, IEC Ex ib I, IEC Ex ia I.
Minelite is the only company that provides servicing for caplamps. The mines no longer employ Lampies. So the easiest way is to freight the broken caplamps to Minelite who will repair or replace the caplamps and return them site.
