Globe Drill is a drill rig manufacturing company based in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. Globe Drill specializes in the design and manufacture of production blast-hole rigs. Globe Drill drill rigs are made in Australia to suit the harsh Australian climate and have a proven history to sustain high temperatures and outback conditions. BD500 PERFORMER - PRODUCTION DRILL RIGThe track mounted BD500 Peformer is a compact unit for its capabilities, designed to be transported without an escort. Designed and built for Australian conditions after ten years of research and development, Globe Drill is ready to launch Australia's first production drill rig onto the market. With a top drive head and a wide range of rod carousel options built for the mast, the BD500 Peformer is well suited to production blast hole and grade control use. The cooling systems are designed to handle temperatures of 65C ambient conditions with thermostatically controlled fans. HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS AND THERMATIC COOLING SYSTEMSThe heart of the BD500 Performer is a state-of-the-art hydraulic system. Developed by Globe Drill after extensive trialling in the Australian mining industry, the system provides smooth operator control, long component life and economic high-powered delivery for a wide range of drilling methods. The hydraulic system is fitted with the most effective methods of control, with three constant torque, load sensing piston pumps driven from the front of the engine. The three pumps work together to create an economic system for small diameter holes but powerful enough for up to 300mm diameter rotary or down-hole hammer drilling.
AQUILA DRILL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMAquila drill management systems make your drilling and blasting operations more accurate, productive, and profitable. Proven in harsh, demanding mining conditions, these information products are helping mines around the world lower their production cost-per-ton, shift after shift, year after year. Using the new, second generation Advanced Monitoring Platform (AMP-II) and centimeter-accurate GPS technology, Aquila drill systems virtually eliminate traditional surveying, staking, and human error. Operators are empowered to know exactly what and where they are drilling and management is provided with comprehensive production information to make informed, profitable decisions in near real time. EXTENDING OPERATOR CABThe BD500 Performer production drill rig has many unique features contributing to the rig position as a leader in its class. One such feature providing higher safety levels and versatility is its extending operators cab. Designed to work in conjunction with the rigs dump mast, the cab has the ability to extend horizontally by hydraulics up to 1m from its normal position. With the rigs capability of drilling at angles of up to 50° and enough dump mast travel to lower the table to the ground at that angle, the extending cab provides full vision of the drill table and rod handling operations at all angles from 50° to vertical. HYDRAULIC SLIPS TABLEA four piston hydraulic slips table is a standard feature of the BD500 Performer. Providing a drill table opening of up to 320mm and closing to as small as 3.5in for small drill rods, the hydraulic slips table is another unique feature providing versatility to the BD500. Operated from the cab in conjunction with the twin hydraulic rod and hammer breakout system and the hydraulic drill bit pot, the hydraulic slips table allows the operator to pass large diameter drill bits and hammers through the table without assistance and without having to leave the cab.
