Damen Dredging Equipment is the dredging division of the Damen Shipyards Group. As a dredging professional Damen Dredging Equipment is a specialised supplier catering for all contractors dredging needs. We offer state-of-the-art cutter-suction dredgers including the DOP® submersible dredge pump with dredging instrumentation and automation, as well as the complete Navguard survey package. The company, founded in the early 1940s, both designs and manufactures its extensive range of mining tools at the Nijkerk yard.

DREDGERS DELIVERED FROM STOCK

Following the good Damen tradition, a major part of the product range has been standardised. Hence the wide range of standard components is used to compose customised dredging tools. The possibilities are plenty ranging from a standard cutter-suction dredger which can be delivered almost from stock, the delivery of prefabricated shipbuilding kits to any overseas yard to fully custom-built 'one-off' mining dredger, floating booster or any other dredging tool.

CUTTER-SUCTION DREDGERS

Damen offers a wide range of standard stationary cutter-suction dredgers, which are known for their heavy-duty construction and their large scope of customized options. The dredgers, designed for continuous and simultaneous use of all systems on board, are dismountable and can be transported easily.

The complete standard range shortens delivery times, results in competitive pricing and facilitates package deliveries. And yet adaptations can still be made to meet specific customer requirements.

DOP® SUBMERSIBLE DREDGE PUMPS

The DOP submersible dredge pump is a versatile tool. Its heart is a wear-resistant hydraulically or electrically driven dredge pump. It can be provided with different types of suction heads to suit any dredging situation.

The DOP submersible dredge pump can be attached to the boom of an excavator and run on the excavators hydraulics, it can be suspended from an A-frame to form a sand mining dredger, it can be provided with a cutter head and thus form a cutter-suction dredger, it can be equipped with an auger head for environmental clean-ups, it is suitable as a booster station.

The many uses of the DOP prove its multi-functionality at low initial costs.

DREDGING INSTRUMENTATION AND AUTOMATION

No mining tool is complete without its own specific dredging instrumentation and automation. For each type of dredging tool Damen offers the right instrumentation to enhance efficiency and to facilitate control.

The range of equipment varies from simple dredging instrumentation such as vacuum and pressure transmitters, to state-of-the-art dredging automation such as fully automised unmanned dredgers controlled from a nearby sand classification plant and positioning system linked to survey data. As one of the few exclusive agents, Damen offers the complete Navguard survey package. All information logged on board of the vessel can be transmitted to shore easily where it can be processed.

Not only newly built but also existing vessels can be equipped with the latest dredging instrumentation thus ensuring a more cost-effective dredging operation.
