WALKER – A Portable Meter of Ash Content in Hard and Brown Coal and Lignite – Without Isotope

Monday, August 11, 2003 by EMAG

Fully automatic, quick measurement of ash content in coal at storage yard and dumping ground, in tanks and wagons.

APPLICATION
Quick quality assessment of:
– run-of-mine,
– preparation products,
– screening products,
– coal blends,
– unknown coals before preparation,
– feed to coal preparation plants and power stations.

ADVANTAGES:
– high accuracy of measuring,
– simple calibration and operation,
– cost, time and energy saving,
– operation with computer: data base, reports.

TECHNICAL DATA:
Principle of operation: Measurement of natural gamma radioactivity of coal.
Battery life between charging: Depends on working temperature; accumulator.
12 V/1,8 Ah; Min. 5 hours’ continuous operation at ~20 oC.
Working temperature: -20 oC to 50 oC.
Number of stored calibration: 16 different calibrations can be straight forward and undertaken by a customer.
Number of measurements per pile: 99.
Measurement time: 5 – 999 s (to be chosen).
Readings of Ash %: Instant.
