SAFEmine are to present 'Assessing the Effectiveness of Collision Avoidance' technology at the Collision Avoidance in Mining conference in Brisbane, QLD, Australia from March 8th to 9th.
As part of SAFEmine's attendance at this year's Collision Avoidance in Mining conference in Brisbane, Australia, Urs Rothacher, CEO of SAFEmine, will be giving a talk on how traffic awareness technology can improve operator performance on vehicles in surface mines.
Using a before/after approach in a study done in multiple mines, significant improvement of vehicle operators' behavior - the key to traffic safety - was shown through the use of a suited Collision Avoidance System. Beyond this, mines' benefits from a Collision Avoidance System like SAFEmine include important information on hot spots on their road network and improvements of overall traffic related key parameters.
After providing an overview of challenges and lessons learnt in deploying and supporting thousands of collision avoidance devices in many open pit mines worldwide, Urs will look into future developments to explore likely benefits of this technology in years to come.
This talk will be taking place on Tuesday, 8 March, starting at 2pm.
