ITC Global, a leader in the provision of remote corporate network communication solutions has installed a new network at Ausdrill Limited subsidiary African Mining Service's (AMS) mining facilities in Ghana.
ITC Global's Vice President of Business Development Joe Spytek said: "Prior to ITC installing a new Mini-Hub, AMS was using an expensive regional communications network (SCPC-based meshed solution), which offered no room for network expansion or seamless augmentation."
ITC Global evaluated, re-designed and implemented an optimized satellite-based communications solution for AMS's corporate network, based in Ghana. The solution offered significant cost savings.
"We leveraged our global network capacity capability to provide a robust telecommunications solution. The solution involved placing the iDirect mini-hub at AMS's headquarters in Accra and building a sizeable star network to the four remote sites elsewhere in Ghana, creating a true start-within-a-star network," Mr Spytek said.
The network integrates the remote posts with its headquarters to fulfill inter-office communication requirements, while gaining access to other networks around the world.
"ITC provided a solution that serviced AMS's current needs for communication infrastructure and also allowed for expansion should the project require temporary or permanent network augmentation," said Paul Farrington, IT Administrator for AMS.
"The solution provided AMS with complete control of its network, considerably lowered its recurring bandwidth costs, and lowered the latency between each site and its headquarters in Accra," said Paul Farrington.
