FHF - Ex I Systems for Shaft Signalling, Communication and Control, Mine Radio, Data Transmission and Automation

FHF Bergbautechnik was founded under the name Funke + Huster in 1897 and can demonstrate a continuous history of engineering excellence in Germany and other countries. With over 30 years of international experience in the Chinese market, FHF can undertake complete turnkey projects for coalmines and Ex I fabrication plants. Our Ex I technology covers shaft signalling, communication and control systems, mine radio systems and data transmission and automation systems.

FHF is a high-tech company for developing and manufacturing electronic equipment with its major activities as problem solver, system supplier and system integrator. Longstanding experience and excellent know-how in infrastructures of haulage and transport in the mining industries makes FHF one of the most important suppliers for Ex I technology.

Our highly innovative turnkey systems for communication and automation in mining and climate monitoring correspond to the latest state-of-the-art technologies.

Ex I shaft signalling, communication and control systems

FHF is specialised in providing fully integrated Ex I control and automation systems for inclined and vertical shafts according to ATEX regulations. Components and systems developed by the engineering division include:

  • Shaft signalling, communication and automation systems including shaft radio
  • Automation systems for mine car circuits near shaft
  • Automation system for decking plants
  • Automation systems for rotary tipplers

Ex I mine radio system MR90

The MR90 system is the first fully integrated system designed according to ATEX regulations. MR90 provides a radio frequency communication highway for mines. This communication highway operates with leaky feeder cable as a mine-wide antenna. The system uses a series string of amplifiers, spaced at a distance of around 1,000m for bi-directional signal regeneration. MR90 provides voice and / or data communication channels. In shaft radio systems antennas instead of leaky feeders are used for signal transceiving.

Ex I data transmission and automation system ZM51

The ATEX-certified ZM51 data transmission and automation system is located close to sensors and actuators. It can be used for the local and remote transmission and processing of messages, commands and counted values using a single twisted-pair line.

FSK modems (1.2kb/s, 4.8kb/s and 19.2kb/s) are used for signal transceiving. Long-distance data transmission according to Profibus DP mining specification with a data rate of 93.75kb/s via copper cable and 12Mb via fibre optical cable is also available. Program interface Ethernet via TCP/IP and fibre-optic connections is also available.
