FLOCCULANT PRODUCTS FOR MINERAL PROCESSING

Praestol® flocculants play an important role in the mineral processing industry. In many solid-liquid separation processes they are used to improve the efficiency of separation, increase the liquor or water recovery and provide a consistent solid product. Whether the process involved is clarification, thickening, filtration or centrifugation Praestol flocculants are designed with the application in mind.

DEFOAMING, DEAERATING AND DEWATERING PRODUCTS

Antispumin® products help prevent the formation of, or destroy foam in a wide variety of processes. They are often used for preventing disturbances in clarification and filtration processes in coal and other ore processing. Many hydrometallurgical operations also have foam problems where Antispumin products are used.

Intrasol® dewatering aids are highly effective in reducing the moisture content of filter cakes. This results in a cost efficient method to improve the liquor or filtrate recovery and also to reduce the cost of thermal drying of the filter cake.

SCALE INHIBITION, DISPERSING, GRINDING AND VISCOSITY MODIFICATION PRODUCTS

Polystabil® products function as scale inhibitors due to their special molecular weight distribution. Scale prevention is especially pronounced against calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate, silicates and barium sulfate.

Special Polystabil products also disperse slurries with high solids concentrations of various minerals. Individual products are designed to improve grinding efficiency, or alternatively, to stabilize slurries for transportation.

FLOCCULANT DOSE CONTROL SYSTEM

The Sedicontrol™ system was specially developed for use in the mining industry. It helps make the best possible use of our Praestol® flocculants.

Benefits of using the Sedicontrol system:

• Normally, a minimum 20 % reduction in flocculants consumption
• Immediate reaction to feed changes, e. g. flow rate, feed solids, particle size and pH value
• Improved consistency of underflow
• Reduce danger of torque increase due to over-flocculation
