Q&R Industrial Hoses is a manufacturer of handmade rubber hose and rubber-to-metal linings for the mining industry. We custom make all our products either to customer specifications or by our recommendation.
With over 35 years' experience we can design, develop, manufacture and hydrostatic test custom rubber hoses for all industries from 25mm to 2,500mm in diameter. Our other services include rubber-to-metal linings of tanks, pipes, impeller assemblies, screens and all other fabrications which enjoy the same reputation of quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
To compliment our manufacturing facility we also stock a full range of rubber, PVC and composite hoses, which includes affiliated fittings, valves and clamps.
Our brand name ABISCO is well-known throughout the mining and quarry industries for materials handling, and is complimented by our range of ABISCO aluminium couplings and gaskets. We manufacture all end variations from fixed integral rubber and canvas, spigot ends both fixed and swivel, beaded swivel, victaulic, plain, cuffed and threaded.
Material-handling hoses are used throughout an array of industries for many varying applications, from mineral sand slurry to hard rock mining, high-pressure tailings lines, chemicals and petroleum products.
Q&R can manufacture hoses from 12mm to 1,200mm in diameter and up to 10m long in both material handling (wire reinforced or hard wall) and material delivery (no wire reinforcing or soft wall).
On top of our standard capacity we also manufacture up to 2,500mm in diameter and 3,500mm long.
We also provide floating hoses for dredging, stacker / long line hoses, pinch valve sleeves, specialty hoses and sleeves.
We design and manufacture all our hoses for their specific application, whether it be a front cutter hose, suction hose, pump hose in the dredge or plant or delivery hose leading off the back of the dredge. To compliment the main hose lines on a dredge we also manufacture and retail all ancillary hoses, valves and fittings required to keep your machinery up and running in ship shape.
Q&R manufacture expansion and vibration joints from 25mm NB to 2,500mm NB for either suction or delivery duties. The joints can be of straight hose construction or be built for large movements to include expansion / compression, lateral movement and vibration dampening (one or multiple humps / arches depending on the movement required). They can also still entail the expansion humps while still retaining a smooth bore to stop the build up of contaminates and or the disruption of flow if required.
By using our Abisco Muff Coupling System you can quickly make your own special length of material handling hose from our standard length of ABISCO hose, ABISCO clamp-on coupling's and/or ABISCO metal-spun rubber covered gaskets.
You can simply cut lengths of material-handling hose as required and clamp-on the ABISCO couplings. This eliminates the need to try to establish beforehand from drawing or plans which hose lengths will be required.
Repair and maintenance work of installation can easily be made with the ABISCO clamp-on system as any length of hose to be replaced can be cut from a standard length and the coupling are reusable.
The simplicity and versatility of the ABISCO clamp-on system reduces installation time and no particular skill is required to handle the system.
In an emergency a pipe or hose in a plant can quickly be replaced with the ABISCO clamp-on system. The downtime will be minimal and this can, in many cases, be the completely over-riding economical factor.
We are proud to have onsite Australia's largest rubber autoclave capacity measuring 3.8m in diameter and 9m in length, which complements our other three autoclaves to offer a full range of curing capabilities.
All hose variations are constructed to the same high quality and to the standards we have become renowned for over the last 35 years. All hoses are designed with a 4:1 safety factor built into them and individually designed and manufactured for their specific application.
There are a number of cheap easy to apply protective coatings available, but none can offer the endurance, chemical resistance and service life of pressure vulcanised rubber linings.
Rubber lining can be applied to a number of surfaces with a large range of compounds available which can resist most commercial solutions of chemical acids and alkalis to provide a high resistance to abrasion and temperatures. There are a number of considerations for bonding rubber such as surface preparations, the type of material to be lined and curing procedures.
With Q&R Industrial Hoses having over 35 years of rubber lining experience you can be assured we can provide you with not only a wealth of knowledge to provide the correct compounds and lining applications, but also the experience of a combined knowledge of over 250 years of rubber liners carrying out your work.
If we can be of any assistance please don't hesitate to contact us.
