The Japanese Government presented the prestigious CHO MONOZUKURI Innovative Parts and Components award to NSK for its new NH/NS™ Series Linear Guides.

The CHO MONOZUKURI award was established in 2004 to recognize the contributions of the manufacturing industry to society. The award focuses on six fields: machinery, automobiles, electrical/electronic equipment, environmental, health/medical equipment, and daily living.

NSK Linear Guides™ are used in a wide variety of material handling robots, machine tools, laboratory automation, medical imaging, and other equipment in the semiconductor, automobile manufacturing, factory automation, healthcare, and other industries. These industries continue to encourage improvements in linear guide performance to achieve improved productivity and longer maintenance intervals.

Applying its strengths in the areas of analysis and production technology, NSK developed the NH/NS™ Series Linear Guides. This product achieves several significant improvements over the previous line of linear guides:

  • Significant increase (up to 1.3 times greater) dynamic load rating compared to the conventional product, without increasing the footprint. This results in a doubled fatigue life.
  • Longer fatigue life allows design engineers to potentially use more compact linear guides to achieve desired product life resulting in lower overall machine weight and potential cost savings.
  • Increase in speed capability of 1.5 to 3X depending on the product size.
  • 3dB reduction in noise.
  • Significantly improved smoothness and ease of motion.

Similar to the previous linear guide models, the new NH/NS™ Series is available in a variety of rail and carriage models and can achieve long-term, maintenance-free operation by adding NSK’s K1™ Lubrication Unit. Interchangeable rails and carriages are available within 1-3 days lead time, plus shipping.
