Bestech Australia is proud to announce that it is now able to distribute wireless data acquisition platforms for its sensors as a further convenient form of data transmission, because of a new partnership with French manufacturer Bean Air.
Bean Air has been a leader in the use of wireless sensor technology, designing very low power wireless sensor networks, introducing the concept of 'self-power' that can be applied on most industrial sensors available on the market.
The wireless standards used are IEEE 802.15.4 / Zigbee, which is inherently low power and means that the wireless network is interoperable with your current IT.
However, a PC is not required to run the wireless sensors. They can be used autonomously by being equipped with GSM / GPRS capability as well as IEEE 802.15.4 / Zigbee, allowing sensors and sensor networks to run and report data thousands of kilometres away from your information system. This is especially useful in the mining industry, where mining sites can be remote and even offices on site are at a distance from the mine where the measurements are being taken.
Bean Air has integrated measurement sensors with some of its wireless technology for easy turnkey solutions to your measurement applications. This includes inertial MEMS technology, which is still unmatched in terms of performance and autonomy.
Various wireless data acquisition systems are also available, ready to be connected to your existing sensors, utilising their voltage / current / strain gauge (mV) outputs.
Wireless technology eliminates the use of annoying cables, which can be a great convenience in the harsh environment of a mine where the cables must be properly protected. It also increases transmission distances with better signal integrity. The devices are entirely autonomous, and function either on Lithium-thionyl chloride primary battery or on Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery. The installation is quick and easy, as the plug-and-play system requires no knowledge of wireless technology.
Benefits of using wireless sensor technology:
- Eliminate cabling costs
- Automate production processes
- Equipment availablilty / tracking
- Optimise maintenance
- Improve your equipment's energy efficiency
- Access to remote sites that are inaccessible to wired solutions
