Maintenance Products Australia - Protective Coatings and Maintenance Compounds

Since 1994, Maintenance Products Australia (MPA) has been providing the Australian mining industry with the latest in innovative maintenance compounds and protective coatings.

MPA is committed to acquiring internationally recognized and leading maintenance compounds, protective coatings and products in order to reduce costs, minimize downtime and maximize the life of plants, buildings and equipment.

Anti-slip coatings for mining equipment

GripFast non-slip paint is a durable anti-slip coating that is suitable for internal and external materials in the mining industry such as wood, concrete and metal. By simply brushing on and sprinkling with carborundum, a non-slip surface is created on stairs, walkways, gantries, fire escapes, vehicle loading platforms, ramps, concrete floors, platforms and steps.

Solvent-free, brushable resin for protecting corroded material

MPA’s Liquid Metal is a two-pack, metal, solvent-free, brushable resin. It can be applied at 1mm thickness to form a non-porous metallic skin over worn or corroded areas. When carborundum aggregate is sprinkled onto Liquid Metal before curing, it provides outstanding traction, particularly on metal surfaces. Liquid Metal works particularly well on:

  • Corroded battery carriers
  • Porous engine blocks
  • Porous gearbox casings
  • Pitted well liners
  • Corroded sumps
  • Pitted valve bodies
  • Pinholed fuel tanks
  • Leaking water tanks
  • Sealing porous cab-floors
  • Eroded pumps

Solvent-free resin metal repair compounds

MPA provides metal repair compounds for use in the mining industry. Its Industrial Strength Metal Repair Compound is a two-pack, metal hard, solvent-free resin. When mixed, it cures to form an exceptionally hard, chemically inert compound. Simply apply with a knife or spatula to repair a crack, split or hole in any type of metallic surface. This product reclaims equipment in hours.

MPA’s industrial Supergrade metal repair compound is a two-pack, titanium-rich, solvent-free resin. When mixed, it cures to a hardness of 89 Shore D, making Supergrade the ideal resin to machine. Supergrade is applied with a knife or spatula to a worn shaft or oversized bearing housing and allowed to cure before machining by conventional machine tools. It has all the benefits of the Industrial Strength Metal Repair Compound with double the hardness.

Liquid Rubber compounds for dies and casts

MPA’s Liquid Rubber compound is a two-component, very low shrink, filling, casting and moulding compound. It pours readily and cures at room temperature to a semi-rigid rubber with a rating of Shore A >80. Liquid rubber is ideal for forming dies and casts, creating flexible fixings and for filling expansion joints in concrete.

Abrasion-resistant, cushioning liquid rubber coating

Liquid Rubber can be used to make customized rubber parts and shapes. It is easily brushed on to create a protective, abrasion-resistant and cushioning coating. It stops vibration and dampens noise on metal surfaces, and is excellent for repairs to rubber and other flexible surfaces such as conveyor belts and rollers.

Neoprene rubber compound

MPA provides a moisture-curing neoprene rubber, which is available in black, white and clear. This compound is ideal for any type of flexible repair, gaskets, conveyor belt joints, seals around junction boxes and bedding manhole covers. Once cured, neoprene rubber can withstand temperatures of up to 350°C, with a hardness of 25 shore A and an elongation factor of 200%.

With MPA’s neoprene rubber compounds, reliable, flexible repairs are achieved simply and quickly for:

  • Superficial tyre-wall damage
  • Cracked battery cases
  • Leaks to light seals on vehicles
  • Failed windscreen seals
  • Sealing conveyor-belt joints
  • Rubber cables, hoses and belts
  • Gaskets

Concrete Filler repair compound

MPA offers a two-pack concrete repair compound for repairs without special preparation. Concrete Filler has a compression strength greater than the integral strength of concrete. Concrete Filler, with its non-shrink quality, is ideal for anchoring.

Concrete Filler can be used for major repairs in broken steps and ramps, damaged quarry tile floors, chemical attacks on concrete, dangerous loading-bay surfaces, coldstore areas, concrete tanks and grouting in heavy machinery.

Anti-corrosive, lubricant, waterproofing and penetrating agent

The Lanolin Gold range is an environmentally friendly product that is an all-in-one anti-corrosive, lubricated, waterproof, preserving and penetrating agent designed for a variety of uses, including:

  • Auto-rust proofing
  • Outboard motors
  • Trailer springs
  • Steelwork preservation
  • Hand tool anti-rust coating
  • Welding anti-splatter
  • Heavy machinery rust proofing
  • Thread anti-seize
  • Parts storage
  • Cables and shackles

MPA sources proven products from around the world and has its own complimentary product range, which is specifically manufactured to cope with harsh Australian conditions and comply with the highest standards.
