Brown McFarlane CEO Speaks at International ConferenceBrown McFarlane
Barry Morse, CEO of the Brown McFarlane Group, was invited by HSBC to attend and speak at their recent Global Connections conference held at the Hotel Transamerica in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The conference, the first in a series of International Exchange events to be held around the world, was designed to assist companies to expand in fast growing markets.
HSBC firmly believes that when you are better connected in business you will be in a better position to succeed. For this reason they gathered together more than forty business leaders from around the world and a similar number of senior HSBC commercial banking executives to learn from a range of international speakers with first-hand experience of developing business in new international markets. The programme also included highly targeted interactive workshops and visits to local businesses chosen for their relevance to delegates' industry sectors. At the same time, of course, there was the chance to network over three days and build more valuable business connections.
HSBC is proud to present this dynamic series of events and Brown McFarlane is equally proud to have been chosen to attend. "When you consider the huge number of companies that bank internationally with HSBC it is an honour for Brown McFarlane to have been invited to be at this event", said Morse, "and to have the opportunity to take to the stage and share our experiences with the audience demonstrates that we have an interesting and illuminating story to tell".
Morse took part in a session entitled "Trading Secrets: inside the minds shaping global business" which followed the format of a forthcoming television series, sponsored by HSBC and being shown on BBC World, where two businessmen discuss their personal business experiences. In a conversation facilitated by Oliver Kamm, the chief economics lead writer and columnist for The Times, Morse and Joseph Tutundjian, an international businessman and consultant specialising in foreign trade, covered a wide range of topics such as how to explore a new market, dealing with agents, and the importance of making contacts and connections.
Summing up his experience Morse says "I am very grateful to HSBC to give me the chance to be a part the event. It was hard work but the most wonderful opportunity to meet with so many influential and interesting people. Most importantly I was able to learn things which will help me and my business to develop."
